Colorado Springs firefighters head to battle Cameron Peak Hearth


COLORADO SPRINGS – Four Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) firefighters move north to fight the Cameron Peak Fire.

CSFD sends a brush machine with a crew of three firefighters and a firefighter lieutenant as strike team leader to the fire burning west of Fort Collins.

The fire at Cameron Peak has now burned 187,537 acres, maintaining its status as the largest wildfire in Colorado history by a wide margin. The second largest fire of all time – Pine Gulch – scorched 139,007 acres this summer.
