COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KRDO) – Colorado Springs police are still investigating not one, not two, but three separate bank robberies as of Thursday afternoon. The time span of the robberies all occurred within a two-hour window.
It all started around 1:42 p.m. Thursday when a male suspect walked into Ent Credit Union on 4270 Flintridge Drive. The suspect gave a note demanding money. After receiving the money, the suspect fled the area.
Police actually believe this is the same suspect in another bank robbery on Galley Road earlier this month.
CSPD's Natashia Kerr said, "The investigation enabled our robbery detectives to determine that one of the suspects in yesterday's robbery at an Ent Credit Union was actually the same suspect who was involved in a separate robbery in October 8."
Then, just four minutes after the first robbery, another bank robbery call came from 3125 Jet Wing Drive. He presented a note and fled with an unknown amount of money.
The third and final robbery took place at 3:21 p.m. A lone suspect entered this Chase Bank at 3306 Centennial Blvd. and he also asked for cash with a slip of paper.
"All three of these robberies were similar in the sense that all of the suspects walked into the bank or credit union and presented a note asking for cash before leaving the scene with an undisclosed amount of money," Kerr said.
However, none of the three suspects in Thursday's robbery had the same description.
Kerr said, “So far, preliminary, any statements we have so far that none of the suspect's descriptions match any of these statements. But of course our detectives are going to look into this to see if they're connected, and that's what the investigation will find out. "
Detectives from the Colorado Springs Police Department's robbery division reacted to all three scenes and took over the investigation. If you have any information please contact CSPD at 444-7000.
